We work on a wide range of residential and small‑scale commercial projects across Plymouth, Devon and East Cornwall. Below is a selection of recent projects that reflect the type of work we regularly undertake.

Wall removal
We designed a traditional cavity masonry construction extension for a large kitchen and living area. This included removing an existing wall to open up the rear of the property.

Extension
This project involved a large extension to create the owner’s dream kitchen and living area. We provided all structural design services and undertook site inspections during construction.

Timber frame
We were involved in a large single-storey timber framed kitchen extension. The design included foundations, ground floor, timber frame members and support of steels in the roof.

Change of use/conversion
Our client undertook a self-build conversion of an dis-used water tank in the South Hams. We provided structural engineering services from concept to completion.

Loft conversion
We have provided the structural design for several loft conversion projects including hip to gable and dormer extensions, to give property owners more space and flexibility.

Heritage refrubishment
Heritage refurbishment is something we are really passionate about. Our client bought an early 19th century property which required extensive refurbishment.

Alterations
This project required the complete removal of the rear wall and numerous internal wall alterations. We designed a steel box frame to sit within the rear wall to provide vertical and horizontal support.

New build
We designed a new build dwelling using traditional masonry cavity walls and a cut timber roof. Steel beams were also utilised to facilitate a large open plan kitchen/dining room and snug.

Structural inspection
The client came to us with concerns about vertical cracking in the external walls of the property. We provided structural advice and oversaw remedial works which included adding vertical movement joints.
